OPERATIONAL TRAINING

Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary train on a regular basis, learning new skills and sharpening their old ones to remain ready for the call from the Coast Guard for Operational Support Missions!  Sometimes these training exercises even turn into Operational Missions if the need for assistance arises while underway.  Yes it is as much fun as it looks like, with an occasional amazing sunset or perfect day to make it just that much more memorable.  Add this to the opportunity to make new friends while providing a public service and you have it all!

Members in these photos are practicing towing evolutions under ideal conditions, as you might suspect, ideal conditions rarely exist when a boater is in distress, which is why teamwork and developing a flawless routine is so important.  Interested in getting involved?  To learn more, please contact our Webmaster.
