The Coast Guard Auxiliary has recently introduced a Contingency Planning Pyramid

Please pay attention to the bottom half of page 4 of this document.  The deadline for completion of ICS 100 and ICS 700 is June 30, 2006 after which a member who has not completed these courses will no longer be certified as qualified to participate in Operations.  In addition a member who has not taken the two courses by June 30, 2006 will not be eligible to participate in Coast Guard drills, exercises or response events.

Taking FEMA Online Exams

You can go to: http://training.fema.gov/VCNew/firstVC.asp for general information on how to take courses at the FEMA site.

At the end of the tutorial you can sign up for an account.

There are several similar courses.  You can take any course that you may have an interest in and get an official certificate of completion from FEMA in the mail.  The courses that the Coast Guard wants us all to take at this time are:

When you have successfully completed the above courses, you will be sent an email indicating whether you passed or failed.  If you passed, please forward that email directly to Bill Tooker so he can record this in AUXDATA.
