The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer branch of the United
States Coast Guard, established by Congress in 1939 to assist in promoting boating
safety. Today, there are nearly 28,000 active Auxiliary members.
Division 22 patrols The Long Island Sound from Matinecock Point to Mount Sinai Harbor
serving the Long Island community in New York State North of the Long Island Expressway from the
Bayville bridge to the William Floyd Parkway. Our controlling Coast Guard Unit is Station Eatons Neck,
Northport NY. We consist of seven Flotillas
based (from west to east) in Oyster Bay,
Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington,
Northport, Fort Salonga,
Stony Brook and Port Jefferson.
The division
meets on the first Thursday of every month except in August. The door opens at 7:00 pm and the meeting start at 7:30 pm.
All members and guests are welcome to attend any meeting of the Division or its Flotillas.
We normally meet at the Huntington Yacht club except for December, January and February at previously announced locations
The March 2008 Division meeting will be held on March 6 2008 at the Halesite Firehouse, 1 New York Avenue (Rt 110)) in the Upstars meeting room. Refreshments before the meeting starting at 1950 hours, meeting to start at 2000 hours. Guests are welcome.
